Jakarta (ANTARA) - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the Professional Disciplinary Council (MDP) will conduct a medical audit following up on the investigation into the death of Dr. Myta Aprilia Azmi, an intern doctor at KH Daud Arif Hospital.

The minister responded to reporters' question regarding sanctions for the doctor found by the Ministry of Health to have instructed an intern to manipulate the schedule to create three shifts and forge Dr. Myta's signature.

部长回应了记者关于卫生部发现医生指示实习生操纵排班表以创建三个班次并伪造Myta医生签名的行为所提出的制裁问题。

'We hope this (medical audit) can be completed within a week so that we can draw conclusions. Based on these conclusions, the Professional Disciplinary Council, through the Indonesian Health Council, will propose sanctions,' Sadikin informed on Thursday (May 7).

The investigation revealed shortcomings in the implementation of the internship program, indications of excessive work hours, schedule manipulation by the internship assistant, and deficiencies in medical management.

On the same occasion, the ministry's Director General of Human Resources for Health, Yuli Farianti, said that if professional violations are found during the audit, the MDP and the Indonesian Health Council may recommend the suspension of Practice Licenses (SIP) and Registration Certificates (STR).
