Travel nursing startup Nomad Health has reduced its workforce.Chief Marketing Officer Maquel Shaw confirmed Feb. 6 to Becker's that the company cut jobs but declined to offer any other specifics. This comes after Nomad Health laid off hundreds of staffers in 2023. The startup brought in tens of millions of dollars in venture capital funding during the pandemic, when demand for travel nurses and other temporary healthcare staffers was booming.'Nomad's leaders, starting with me, were too optimistic about the trajectory of our market,' co-founder and CEO Alexi Gharib Nazem, MD, emailed employees in 2023, according to Forbes.
