Physical therapy software and EMR provider WebPT is partnering with tech giant Intel to integrate Intel RealSense PT Metrics into the WebPT EMR platform for physical therapy providers, allowing for AI-enabled motion capture technology.

RealSense PT Metrics is an AI-enabled data-driven kiosk that tracks and analyzes a patient's movement, posture and range of motion and directs patients through their physical therapy routines.

The platform will be integrated into WebPT's EMR system and automatically chart patient information.

The technology was previously used for motion capture for various sports, and Intel says it is now bringing it into healthcare for physical therapy treatment delivery through the partnership.

In July, WebPT announced an extended partnership with PredictionHealth to develop advanced AI-enabled tools for rehab organizations to reduce documentation burden, increase reimbursement and improve compliance.
