We read with interest the paper by Bourlaki et al. on the ‘ophthalmic healthcare professional-led’ keratoconus (KC) management at The Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre (BMEC) [1].At the West of England Eye Unit (WEEU), Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, there is a long-standing history of optometrists leading the KC service.
