Johnson & Johnson announced today that it launched its VOLT variable angle optimized locking technology plating system.

The company says its system marks an evolution in fraction management solutions. J&J designed VOLT to improve stability, enhance performance and increase efficiency.

In addition to its locking technology, VOLT offers an expanded range of plate shapes, lengths and screw lengths. This helps accommodate different fracture reduction and fixation needs. The company aimed to minimize prominence with VOLT’s design, reducing the risk of soft tissue irritation.

J&J says this provides the stability of Locking Compression Plating while allowing for flexible variable angles. The company plans to offer it in both stainless steel and titanium forms..

Johnson & Johnson received FDA clearance for its VOLT Mini and Small fragment plating systems and now offers them commercially. It plans to launch its distal radius and proximal humerus versions of VOLT in 2025 with additional anatomical plating solutions to follow.
