NEW YORK – Elucidata said Wednesday that it has formed a strategic partnership with India's Sapien Biosciences to convert Sapien's biobank assets into data products accessible by artificial intelligence (AI) for use in drug and diagnostic development.

The collaborators will initially focus on building AI models to extract genomic and transcriptomic data from next-generation sequencing (NGS)-annotated digital pathology images from Sapien's cancer biobank. Sapien has data on more than 85,000 cancer patients, often paired with histopathology images, genomic profiles, and structured longitudinal clinical data.
