Customers of the UK’s largest online pharmacy, Pharmacy2U, can now track their prescriptions with its new dynamic order-tracking service, allowing customers greater visibility of their orders.It’s the first time Pharmacy2U has facilitated a total tracking service for its 800,000 customers, which covers the whole prescription lifespan from the point of payment through to dispatch and delivery tracking.The new service gives patients better visibility of their prescription orders, as well as greater certainty over when their medication will arrive.

Should there be a delay in dispatch, customers can choose to split their order into individual deliveries, receiving part of the order first, while the remainder stays in the system until it’s ready.They can also opt to collect medicines from a local pharmacy instead, meaning more control for customers when they need a prescription urgently.Kevin Heath, CEO of Pharmacy2U, said: “We are always looking for ways to improve access to healthcare, and improve the lives of our customers, and that’s exactly what this new feature will do.“By giving patients the ability to track their medication every step of the way, and the flexibility to adjust their preferences if circumstances change, we are putting control of prescriptions back in their hands.”There are six steps of the order journey with Pharmacy2U: stage 1 – awaiting GP approval; stage 2 – prescription received; stage 3 – clinical review; stage 4 – packing; stage 5 – order dispatched; and stage 6 – track delivery.All prescription orders are dispatched using Royal Mail’s Tracked service, and the company aims to reduce packaging where possible to allow for more letterbox deliveries.The new prescription tracking service is just one of several recent developments for Pharmacy2U.
